Our inaugural rehearsal this week went really well. We were (very) few, but mighty! We read through a lot of material, and I feel confident that this is going to be a really fun season. This coming Saturday (May 18) should see an influx of folks.
For any who are new, I do my best to publish the bones of a rehearsal plan within 2 days of our last rehearsal. Essentially, it’s a list of pieces I expect to focus on in the coming rehearsal. I do this for two reasons: to help guide practise sessions and so that folks who are away can keep their finger on the pulse of what we’re doing in their absence.
Without further ado, here’s the list of pieces (in no particular order) I expect to work on next rehearsal (we may read through some other pieces as time allows):
- 3 – Classic Rock’n’Roll
- 9 – Arabian Dances
- 36 – Space and Beyond
- 52 – 76 Trombones
- 72 – Garlandstone
- 73 – Adagio Cantabile (“Pathetique” Sonata)
- 74 – Final Countdown
- 76 – Sweet Caroline
- 77 – Sesame Street
See those of you on Saturday who can make it!
Elizabeth.
